The Atkins diet
Published on January 13, 2005 By StumpMan In Diet
I've always been somewhat of a procrastinator. Putting things off until a later time. waiting until the last minute to get something done.

Such was the way I viewed weight loss. I'd give it a shot from time to time, not really putting in the effort, because, somewhere in the back of my mind was the little voice "oh, there's plenty of time. You can have another burger. You can have another Snickers". That was me last week at 330 pounds.

Last week I went to the doctor and he informed me that my blood pressure was high. I'm only 34, it shouldn't be hitting numbers like 180/100. So, time to get serious about the wieght loss. He explained to me about dieting and excercising. I mentioned that my wife and I wanted to try out Atkins. He told me that it was a good diet to start with, especially for losing 50 or so pounds, but ultimatley, I would need to adjust my diet and excercise more.

OK, so, here I sit in front of the PC. Ten pounds lighter.

Not bad for a start.

Now comes the best part.

In my town, the city will open a new Health and Wellness Center. Olymic pool, cardio room, weight room, etc. My wife signed us up for a membership. I'm excited about this.

Back in High School, I worked out with wieghts. I remember how much I used to look forward to working out. I'm looking forward to this again.

So, I'm kinda keeping a record here of my progress thru the weeks. Stay tuned
