If anyone watches the Daily Show they'll put up a clip from a major news show when they talk about something stupid...it's called, "Slow News Day". Some examples include the Mel Gibson thing, showing off a new studio, and talking about Screech from Saved by the Bell...

It's really annoying....and kinda pathetic. So many other interesting things to talk about and everytime something "big" happens they hammer it into your brain for weeks....that's why I don't watch the news...not only is it depressing, it drives you crazy after awhile.
I have read some, but still know pretty much nothing. I snagged Frogboy's Political Meter widget because I know all that did was snag an image file from the internet and display it in a frame. Go download that, import it as an object and disect the script. Here is the script for you, and when I put in your URL it worked, showing the forecast image, it just cut it off to fit the dimensions of the widget Frogboy made. So you should be able to make a frame, set it the size you want, and then put an object in it with the following script and it should work:

'Called when the script is executed
Sub Object_OnScriptEnter
Object.Picture = "http://images.ibsys.com/ral/images/weather/auto/5day_400x300.jpg"
Object.SetTimer 40,60000000

End Sub

Sub Object_OnTimer40
Object.Picture = "http://images.ibsys.com/ral/images/weather/auto/5day_400x300.jpg"
End Sub

'Called when the script is terminated
Sub Object_OnScriptExit
Object.KillTimer 40
End Sub

NOTE: The above script is Frogboy's, not mine. If he would like it removed I will gladly do so, or one of the admins here can as well.

Hope that helps.

<pubDateParsed>2008-07-09T01:46:07</pubDateParsed>
BlueDev on Trouble with Online images

"Sir, I want to shake your hand, and also tell you how proud I am of you. What is there to add to the whole Nick Berg episode? They drove planes into the World Trade Centre, is it hard to believe they would decapitate someone. the only thing which can be reported on is endless droning on about how terrible it is.
With the Military torturing prisoners there are lots of questions to be asked and many more that remain unanswered.
Josh Marshall makes a similar point about why he hasn;t said much about the Berg incident on his Blog (www.talkingpointmemos.com).
As for the contention that it is a 'few bad apples' look at the Zimbardo and Milgrom experiments going back decades and there is no way that you can draw that conclusion and keep a straight face.

<pubDateParsed>2008-07-09T01:46:07</pubDateParsed>
bobo_fett on Fed Up With the Hypocrisy

I think it has a lot to do with expectations. I didn't doubt these bastards would do things like this to an American or one of America's allies. Not too long ago they killed an Italian in a similar way. Them doing this is sickening, but not unexpected.
One of the reasons America said it went into Iraq for was to make things better for the Iraqi people. I think most people in the US expected (and still expect) this to hold true. This made the pictures from the prisons shocking, as it clashed completely with people's expectations.

It's only logical I think. America says it does not play at the same (low) level as their enemies, which means it is evaluated on a higher level as well.

<pubDateParsed>2008-07-09T01:46:07</pubDateParsed>
Erique Dela Crappe on Fed Up With the Hypocrisy

Well, my point is that all the news outlets are running 10-15 minutes on the prison scandal, and less than 1-2 on Nick Berg. I understand not wanting to see the video, I passed on the opportunity myself.
But constantly portraying the US military as BAD GUYS (yes I know this was only done by a few bad apples) will have a bad effect for us. I can invision Islamic Militants around the world going "See? Even the US agrees with us! See how they are reacting!"
